Please carefully read the below terms and conditions before placing an order with Alyssa's Bakery.

Prices

Following your enquiry, your quote is valid for 3 working days. Paying the initial payment (see below) secures this price & prevents any further price increases, except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control.

The price of celebration cakes includes a £25 non-refundable booking fee, which covers the costs of time taken during the quoting process, securing the date and admin.

Initial Payments

Custom Cakes

Full payment is required to secure the commission of your cake and chosen date with Alyssa’s Bakery. For orders over £100, It is possible to arrange a 50% initial deposit, with the remaining balance being paid a minimum of 2 weeks before the collection date. 

 

Please note: all orders placed within 2 weeks of the required collection date must be paid for in full under any circumstance. 

Late Payments

Full payment is required before any work starts on your order, and failure to pay the full balance will result in a cancellation. 

 

If payment is not received within 3 days of quoting, Alyssa's Bakery reserves the right to cancel any previous arrangements.

Cancellations & Refunds

Customers who have made full payment are entitled to a refund for cancellations made 7 or more business days in advance of the requested date. Late cancellations will not be entitled to a refund, although refunds and credit notes may be given at the discretion of Alyssa's Bakery. The cost of any custom items purchased for your order (toppers etc) will be deducted from the total cost of any eligible refunds.

Alyssa's Bakery retains the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances, such as ill health, in which case any money taken will be refunded in full.

Returns & Refunds

All products are baked to order, and returns are not accepted.

Postals​

Refunds, store credit, or replacements will be given only in the event that you receive the incorrect product, or if the products are shown to be of unsatisfactory quality. Should this be the case, or if you are in any way unsatisfied with the condition or quality of your bakes upon arrival, you must contact us within 24 hours of receipt. Alyssa's Bakery will not accept liability for any complaints made after this time.

Alyssa's Bakery is not responsible for any delays or damage caused by postal couriers. 
 

Celebration Cakes

If you are in any way unsatisfied with the condition or quality of your celebration cake, it is the customer's responsibility to contact Alyssa's Bakery in writing within 24 hours of receipt, including relevant photographic evidence of the issue. Alyssa's Bakery will not accept liability for any complaints made after this time, and will not accept liability for any damage made after leaving our premises.

In the event of a complaint, the product must be returned for inspection. A minimum of 80% of the product must be returned in order to be eligible for a refund. 

Subject to our report on the claimed damage or fault, a full or partial refund, credit note, or a replacement order to the same value of the returned product will be provided in the event that the product(s) are shown to be of unsatisfactory quality. Please note, returning the cake does not guarantee that you will receive a a refund.

Alyssa's Bakery will not be liable for any costs incurred during the return process.

After Collection

Collection

All products are made fresh to order ready for the date of collection.

 

Alyssa's Bakery will not be held liable for any damage to your order once it has left our premises. Cakes are photographed as proof of its condition prior to collection. Please follow the cake care instructions provided.

 

Tiered cakes are most at risk during transport, so please seek advice on how to transport it. You can also visit the cake care page for more advice.

Consumption & Storage

Cakes and cupcakes are best eaten within 24-48 hours of collection. Their quality cannot be guaranteed outside this timeframe. Brownies and blondies have a longer shelf life, and should be stored in an airtight container to retain their shelf life.

 

All bakes are suitable for freezing. The Food Standards Agency recommends that food should only be frozen for a maximum of 3 months to preserve quality. Defrost fully before consumption, and eat on the same day. Do not re-freeze.

Allergies & Special Dietary Requirements

We have looked in detail at our kitchen procedures and although we have taken steps to control the unintended presence of allergenic ingredients in our food, we cannot fully guarantee this.

Allergens

Made in a kitchen that handles the following food allergens:

Cereals containing gluten (such as wheat), eggs, milk, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans (soya), sulphur dioxide & sulphites, and tree nuts (e.g. hazelnuts, almonds, cashews)

Some sprinkles may contain, or may contain traces of, fish.

​

Please notify me of any food allergies before placing your order.

Non-Edible Items

Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items (e.g. support dowels, cake toppers); it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption.

Some sprinkles may contain raw pasta and should be removed before consumption.
